Having built at least 6 of my own homes from scratch one would think a renovation would be much simpler; this is not always the case! I have just completed a very extensive renovation which I would like to share with you.

This was a testing project to say the least! The timeframe was only 10 weeks from start to finish! This timeframe I must say is not to be recommended! But against all odds it happened!!!

Pecanwood Golf Estate was in the top 5 at one stage. Homes were designed purely for weekend getaways. This was one of the original homes built over 20 years ago.

Of course position was first and foremost. Having decided this is where we would put our “roots down”We were all set for the task ahead!

The area was pretty minute, with no cupboard space, guest loo or scullery. Bathrooms were cold, outdated and impractical. In fact the entire house had to be almost completely gutted to allow the transformation to take place!

Now to make this a warm and functional full time residential home!

Enhancing ones home is hugely rewarding but can be extremely frustrating. If you don’t have the right temperament to deal with contractors and suppliers, then my advice would be. Don’t do it yourself!!
